A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Dear Potential Sponsor,
We appreciate your desire to partner with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
Charleston Professionals Chapter by sponsoring our events, programming, and the Low County youth within the greater community. We want to express how excited we are about the possibility of collaborating with Your Organization, where we strive to promote academic excellence, professional development, and community engagement among future engineers.
NSBE’s dedication to inspiring and supporting African-American engineers across all backgrounds is truly admirable. Your programs, mentorship initiatives, scholarships, and community outreach efforts provide invaluable resources and create a sense of belonging and empowerment. Your commitment to bridging the gap in representation within the engineering field is crucial for building a more equitable and innovative future.
We welcome the opportunity to work together to promote diversity and education within the engineering community. We are open to collaborating on initiatives, sharing resources, and participating in events that benefit all aspiring African-American engineers. By working together, we can break down barriers and create a more inclusive environment. Your support as a Corporate Sponsor would be an honor for us. As a sponsor, you would receive various benefits and positive media attention from your Organization with NSBE Charleston Professionals.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or donating, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at President@NSBECharleston.org. We would be more than happy to schedule an appointment to discuss the different levels of sponsorship and their respective benefits.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Warmest Regards,

About Us
NSBE Professionals seek to “inspire the next generation of technical professionals and serve as a catalyst for transforming the culture of engineering.” This goal is achieved by empowering the
organization’s members to grow technically, academically, and professionally, and continue to represent the success of NSBE’s mission.
NSBE Charleston Professionals uses a three-pronged approach to accomplish the mission. We focus on building future engineers and scientists by working at each stage of the process, K-12, Collegiate, and Professionals. Our programming provides mentoring, STEM education, and professional development objectives while providing a fun atmosphere for all involved.
NSBE Charleston Professionals work with community partners to develop programming that introduces children to STEM, builds on their interest, or develops the next generation of responsible
engineers and scientists.

STEMapalooza Lowcountry STEM Fair
Stemapalooza is the Lowcountry’s premiere STEM fair for K-12 students of color. Stemapalooza’s goal is to encourage Lowcountry K-12 students of color to be future Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) professionals. Stemapalooza is NSBE Charleston’s event to further the mission of NSBE which is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.”

NSBE Junior Pre-College Initiative (PCI)
The Pre-College Initiative (PCI) program is designed to stimulate the interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, or STEM. The goal is to encourage students in grades K–12 to attend college and pursue technical degrees. Our PCI program provides activities to help students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork.
Scholarships (9th – 12th Grades)
NSBE Charleston has been awarding scholarships to deserving students in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties since 2013. Our annual scholarship is accompanied by an annual Scholarship and Awards Celebration highlighting the award recipients as well as our professional membership.
NSBE College Initiative (CI)
The College Initiative (CI) program is designed to assist our collegiate members in excelling academically and succeeding professionally through hosting professional workshops or events for local collegiate chapters to assist them in preparing for success during and after college matriculation.
Scholarships (STEM Majors)
Each year, NSBE Charleston awards scholarships to both college freshmen and seniors who have chosen to pursue a major in a STEM-related field. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are passionate about STEM to receive financial assistance as they work towards achieving their academic goals.
Annual Awards & Scholarship Banquet
NSBE Charleston has been providing scholarships to deserving students in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties since 2013. We also organize an annual Scholarship and Awards Celebration to honor the recipients and our professional membership. This event provides a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the hard work and dedication of these students and inspire them to keep pursuing their dreams. We take pride in supporting their academic endeavors and eagerly anticipate continuing to do so in the future.
A Walk For Education
Technical Outreach Community Help (T.O.R.C.H.)
Technical Outreach Community Help (T.O.R.C.H) is NSBE’s signature programs focused on community service. The aim is using our technical backgrounds to positively impact the community. October is T.O.R.C.H. Month.
A Walk for Education (AWFE) is a wonderful initiative that aims to promote education in STEM fields and break down stereotypes about African Americans. The program is run by NSBE members who go door-to-door in underserved Black communities to distribute valuable information on college, scholarship opportunities, SAT/ACT preparation tools, and NSBE. Their efforts also highlight the benefits of pursuing STEM fields. AWFE serves as the key outreach and advertising tool for TORCH, and it is a great opportunity to establish a relationship with the community and nurture it through other TORCH activities.
